Faculty members are expected to demonstrate ability to teach Information Technology and Computer Science courses effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate level
Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement
Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study
Contribute to student growth and development through advising and assistance and engage in service to the university and community
Outstanding candidates will demonstrate a commitment to serving a culturally diverse student body through delivering a student-centered education in a liberal arts and sciences context and will possess the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.
An earned PhD in Information Technology or a related field, such as Computer Science or Information Systems. Candidates who will finish their PhD before August 20, 2018 will be considered.
Demonstrated ability to effectively teach undergraduate and graduate level courses with a substantial programming component.
Potential for excellence in scholarly activity at the university level.
Ability to teach courses in at least three of the following four areas: Software Design, Software Engineering, Database Systems, and Web Development.
Ability to communicate well (written & verbal) with students and employers to facilitate internships and other business/academic partnerships.
Demonstrated commitment to serving a culturally diverse student population.
Demonstrated leadership ability in an academic, business, or public sector environment.

The School/Academic Department: The Department of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS) at Metropolitan State University currently serves undergraduate students majoring in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Computer Forensics, and Computer Application Development. The department also offers MS and Professional Science Master (PSM) programs in Computer Science. In a typical academic year, the faculty member will teach five undergraduate and graduate courses, split between two semesters. In addition, faculty member will engage in scholarship, advising, and service. The department has received grants from organizations including NSF, NSA, and Intel. Salary: Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is determined by the salary placement process as outlined in the Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) Master Agreement.
