The School of Graduate Studies at St. Cloud State University serves annually over 1,800 graduate students enrolled in 50 plus Master-level, 2 Doctoral, 24 Graduate Certificate, 2 Post-Master's Certificate and 1 Specialist programs. The graduate enrollment at St. Cloud State constitutes 12% of total enrollment at the University. 22% of the graduate enrollment comprises of international students, and roughly 20% of students enroll in graduate programs offered at the University's Plymouth location. The School of Graduate Studies supports graduate students and faculty in admissions, recruitment, retention, and completion of graduate programs.
The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions (ADGA) reports to the Dean, School of Graduate Studies. An application specialist and graduate assistant assist with admissions and recruitment reports to the Associate Director of Graduate Admissions. The ADGA will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic recruitment, marketing and communications plan for growing graduate enrollment at St. Cloud State University. This position is responsible for administering policies and processes pertaining to graduate admissions at St. Cloud State. The ADGA also supports applicants and graduate faculty with the application software Hobsons Apply Yourself (AY) and AppReview, maintains and utilizes the Hobson's software system for graduate enrollment management, serves as the graduate content expert for CRM (Hobsons Connect). As an integral member of the enrollment management operational teams, the ADGA designs and implements strategies to grow graduate enrollment at St. Cloud State. Additionally, the ADGA supports international recruitment and marketing efforts undertaken by graduate faculty, colleagues in the Center for International Studies and Admissions. The ADGA also assists the Dean, School of Graduate Studies, in developing a robust graduate enrollment management plan, tracks key performance indicators, and prepares periodic reports for dissemination to graduate faculty and to the University's enrollment management teams. The ADGA builds strategic partnerships internally to improve efficiency of admissions processing and effectiveness of enrollment funnel management, and externally to establish pipelines for graduate enrollment and to expand domestic market share.
Develop and implement a comprehensive and data driven recruitment strategy in domestic markets and serve as a member of the team that manages recruitment in international markets.
Recruit for and represent the School of Graduate Studies by attending local, regional, and national graduate and career fairs, disciplinary conferences, campus events, face-to-face and online informational sessions, and participate at other web and program specific recruitment related outreach activities.
Works in close collaboration with University Communications to ensure that the diverse portfolio of graduate programs are appropriately marketed on various platforms including, print, web, social media, and other emerging platforms in current and emerging markets. This position develops and implements year-long graduate marketing and communications plan, creates and develops all marketing and informational publications and maintains the graduate website and social media communication strategies, and initiates and develops faculty collaboration in the recruitment of graduate students.
Responsible for administering policies and processes related to graduate admissions at St. Cloud State University. The Associate Director incorporates MN State, Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and Council on Graduate Studies (CGS) best practices when recommending policies for Graduate and Professional Education at St. Cloud State.
The Associate Director oversees the processing of applications, manages the daily operations and coordination of graduate admissions. In doing so, this position manages the applications specialist OAS intermediate and admissions graduate assistant, and works in close collaboration with graduate faculty and international admissions staff who is responsible for financial review for the I-20 form creation to ensure that the graduate application processing is handled both efficiently and effectively.
Partner with University Communications, IT, and enrollment data management office personnel to provide the highest level of admissions processes support to graduate applicants and graduate faculty.
Maintain and utilize the communications and applications submission and processing software: Hobsons Connect, AY and AppReview. Implement new program and program updates in Hobsons CRM and application modules, supervise annual software update, develops queries and reports related to Hobsons AY and CRM, and general maintenance related to the operation and utilization of the Hobsons software. Maintain a focus on continual process improvement through effective assessment and analysis of outcomes.
Collect, maintain and analyze performance data from marketing, communications and CRM efforts. Work with the Office of Strategy, Planning and Effectiveness to survey, collect and analyze data related to graduate enrollment management, ensure performance dashboards are updated, and handle other reporting on-demand. Responsible for implementing an enrollment plan that incorporates strategic targets, increased utilization of technology, data-driven decision making and an entrepreneurial attitude towards raising brand awareness, building a strong and diverse class and growing graduate enrollment.
Function as an integral member of the operational enrollment management teams pertaining to admissions, marketing, communications, and recruitment.
Work with program directors and coordinators to achieve individual program recruitment targets
Assist the Dean, School of Graduate Studies in building strategic partnerships with businesses and industries to align St. Cloud State Universities graduate program portfolio with external demand and to establish pipelines to grow graduate enrollment.
Serve as the point person on graduate admission issues between St. Cloud State and various MN State system offices, committees and task forces.
Establish and maintain relationships with targeted communities and prospective student influencers.
Manage admission, marketing, and recruitment budget in the School of Graduate Studies and make recommendation to the Dean for cost-effective budget allocation.

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 6 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge and understanding of higher education processes and culture, graduate education practices, policies and procedures including those that pertain to graduate student recruitment and admission.
Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in a technology based admissions operations.
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work with multiple software applications including spreadsheets, student information systems, database and web-based application and development tools. A history of strong attention to detail and ability to organize large quantities of information for distribution to and use by others.
Understanding of personnel supervision and budget management.
Ability to direct complex tasks and to work in a collaborative and consultative environment.
Evidence of the ability to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Prior experience in admissions related experience at a college or university.
Three to five years of administrative experience in higher education with experience in recruitment, admissions, policy development, management of staff, and marketing and promotional experience.
Experience in domestic and international graduate recruitment admissions strategy and markets.
Knowledge of international education, admissions, recruitment, visa issues.
Proficiency in using web-based communication tools including but not limited to online chat, social media.
Experience in a complex unionized higher education environment.
Demonstrated success in meeting targeted graduate enrollment goals.
A high level of computer literacy, the ability to quickly learn new software applications and the ability to effectively train users at various skill levels.
