The Northeastern University School of Journalism is hiring a Program Manager for Graduate Programs and initiatives. This will include oversight of the Media Innovation program which prepares undergraduate and graduate students for the challenges of the 21st-century newsroom by developing their digital skills in video, audio, social media, data, interactive media, database management, and data visualization. It will also include supporting the Media Advocacy Program and working with the Director of the School of Journaklism and CAMD to develop new programs and initiatives.
The Program Manager will report to the Director of the School of Journalism to manage all aspects of graduate programs and new initiatives. The Program Manager will support Media Innovation and Media Advocacy initiatives, including digital workshops and labs, research, development, media partnerships, community relationships, industry partnerships, co-op support, co-curricular programs and projects, and interdisciplinary collaborations across the College of Arts, Media & Design and the University. While reporting to the Director, he/she will work with the graduate faculty coordinator on recruitment and admissions to the graduate programs and with the Dean's office on curricular development, publicity, marketing and recruitment for these programs and projects.
Bachelors Degree required, Masters degree preferred. Journalism experience is required. 6 8 years experience required Experience in reporting and teaching across all platformsprint, audio and videowith an emphasis on new media and social media is strongly preferred as well as a track record of distinguished work with national and international news organizations. Experience in development, communications, and working in an institutional setting is preferred. Candidate should have a successful track record and demonstrated fluency in use of new media and social media platforms and the ability to communicate that to students.
