Job Description - The Coordinator, Facilities & Operations serves as a competition manager for assigned intercollegiate events and assists with oversight of varsity practices, special events, outside rentals, camps & clinics, tournaments and championships hosted by the Department of Athletics. All duties will be performed in a manner that demonstrates a commitment to compliance with NCAA, ECAC, Ivy, and University rules and regulations.
All department employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League and ECAC rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the department are to be reported to the appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Athletic Department).
Bachelorâ™s Degree required
Minimum of 1-3 years experience in an athletic administration setting, preferably in facilities management, event management, or similar operations capacity; 3-5 years of experience preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to compliance with, NCAA, Ivy League, ECAC and University rules and regulations in regard to operations.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle many tasks at once.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with the Brown community and external groups.
Willingness to work varied hours, including nights and weekends, throughout the year.
Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
The successful candidate for this position will be required to complete a criminal background and DMV checks satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.
