New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) is inviting applicants to apply for a Medical Physicist position in the Department of Radiation Oncology at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. The successful applicant will provide physics services at the main campus in Wilmington, NC and the affiliated facility in Supply, NC and will travel between sites as needed (~ 30% of the time).
The new hire will join 4 other physicists, 5 physicians, 5 dosimetrists with active LDR, HDR, SRS & SBRT programs. Together we will support a busy practice treating approximately 100 patients per day. The department uses 4 C- Series Varian Linacs, Eclipse treatment planning, Aria R&V, Oncentra HDR Brachytherapy, Variseed LDR Brachytherapy and Brainlab's iplan for SRS.
There is a full complement of physics QA equipment including but not limited to PTW ion chambers, PTW MP3-S water phantom, SNC daily QA3, SNC Mapcheck 2, SNC IC profiler and Doselab.
The department is interested in research and publishing. Topics of interest include automation, process improvement and motion management. Applicants that are skilled in LEAN management, ROILS, have an aptitude for coding and have TrueBeam experience are highly desired. Preference will be given to candidates that are experienced with brachytherapy, SRS/SBRT and familiar with our current equipment.
Master's degree in Medical Physics from accredited CAMPEP program. ABR board eligible. Graduates of residency programs are welcome to apply.
