Stanford University's School of Medicine is seeking a Compensation Business Partner to develop, implement, and advise HR managers and line managers on compensation policies, programs, and practices for non-academic and bargaining unit staff. This is an 18 month fixed term position.

Participate in and/or conduct salary surveys and perform market competitive analyses to determine pay trends and practices to support development of the annual salary program and advise on individual employee pay decisions.
Review job descriptions and bargaining unit specifications, apply job evaluation techniques to determine the appropriate job classification and exemption status, and independently provide recommendations to human resource managers and/or line managers on classifications. Approve changes in exemption status.
Provide Consultation and expert advice to resource managers and line managers in the administration of the university's compensation program on a consistent, equitable, and legally compliant basis university-wide, including reviewing exception requests and approving annual salary plans.
Review and provide guidance on incentive plan documentation and/or develop moderately complex incentive plans.
Provide research and analyses for purposes of developing and/or revising existing programs, policies, and/or practices; make recommendations based on analyses and assist in implementing solutions.
May serve as project lead on projects related to policy and program development and administration, including developing project plan and timetable, identifying issues, and recommending solutions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
Expertise with salary survey participation, market analysis, job evaluation, and base and variable pay compensation plan design and administration.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically, Word and Excel.
Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and computational/statistical skills.
Effective communication (verbal and written), consultation, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of compensation practices and trends.
Strong understanding and experience in applying federal and California state and federal wage and hour regulations.
Frequently stand/walk, sit; frequently use a perform desk based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
Occasionally use a telephone, write by hand, sort/file paperwork, twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
