The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Grant Administrator II to join our team of professionals.
Collaborates with faculty in the preparation and submission of proposals for external funding; reviews applications for consistency and ensures that required elements are present and that all submission deadlines are met.
Creates and modifies budgets for external funding submissions to ensure they meet agency requirements.
Reviews and approves all Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) funding submissions in PantherSoft, to confirm appropriateness of faculty effort, Finance & Administration distribution, and overall budget consistency, and prepares a funding submission summary and analysis for the Chair and the Dean before proposals are routed to them for their approval.
Assists faculty in identifying funding submission opportunities from Federal, State and Other funding sources.
Liaises with the Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED) to ensure that HWCOM Research is conducted ethically and in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
Meets with Principal Investigators (PI's) once the protocol(s) for Human (IRB), Animal (IAUC), or recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecule research and bio hazardous materials (IBC) approval is received, to educate PI¿s and key personnel on good clinical practices and research compliance.
Supports the Associate Director of Research Administration in the development and implementation of a quality assurance process for HWCOM Research.
Performs regular quality assurance checks on research projects and works with Associate Director of Research Administration to develop and implement the appropriate corrective action plans.
Contributes to the development of continuous quality process improvements, participates in review of laboratory safety guidelines and emergency plans, prepares ad-hoc reports, and other research related documents as needed.
Educates the HWCOM research community through training's, web site development and dissemination of formal and informal guidance.
Maintains records of all HWCOM Faculty research profiles and required trainings and works with PIs, departments, and chairs to ensure personnel engaged in research complete all necessary trainings and/or certifications within the given timeline.
Collaborates with HWCOM HR with the person of interest/student volunteer process and keeps records/tracking of students in labs.
Maintains tracking of HWCOM student non-curricular research and reporting.
Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience.
One (1) year of research administration experience preferred.
