As part of our recently developed Strategic Plan and our enhanced commitment to research as an AAU member institute, the University of Missouri (MU) College of Education, Department of Special Education is committed to strengthening our research in School-wide Positive Behavior supports and is seeking applicants for a Sr. Research Associate in the area of School-wide Positive Behavior Supports. This position will provide leadership within the MU Center for School-wide Positive Behavior Supports and coordinate implementation, research, and evaluation activities across the state of Missouri.
Experience working with school teams in the implementation of complete continuum of positive behavior supports.
Masters degree or higher in special education or related field.
Candidates will be evaluated on the following factors:
Experience in providing training and technical assistance to school personnel.
Fluency with PBIS assessment tools.
Attend monthly research meetings with project staff, work directly with school teams to develop comprehensive PBS plans, coordinate data collection efforts in schools, maintain data-base for all participating schools in Missouri, develop technical assistance manuals, contribute to research reports, attend and present at related professional conferences, and other tasks as dictated by the project director.
About Special Education: The Department of Special Education has a long history of federal training and research grant funding. We are home to the IES Center for Adolescent Research in Schools and the OSEP Center for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. We also house the Missouri School-wide Positive Behavior Support Initiative. We are affiliated with the interdisciplinary Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Our department is very collaborative and we have developed a number of productive relationships with other departments within the college, around the MU campus, with a range of institutions across the country as well as internationally.

Today, the College has a student population of approximately 900 undergraduates and 1,400 graduate students with 72 tenured/tenure-track and 25 full-time non-tenure track faculty members.
