Dept. of Radiation Oncology Translational Research Division Program Assistant
The Dept. of Radiation Oncology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is one of the most active radiation oncology departments in the world. The department provides state of the art clinical care to patients and works to advance scientific knowledge in the radiation sciences. The department includes over 60 faculty members and several hundred clinical and research staff. The Division of Translational Oncology in the dept. focuses on bridging discoveries made in the laboratory with those made in the clinic. The division is home to 6 principal investigators and their laboratory members and continues to grow.
The Dept. of Radiation Oncology is seeking a Program Assistant to provide support to a designated group of faculty members of the Division of Translational Oncology.
Provide administrative and operational support to designated faculty, the division director, and the respective research teams
Serve as a liaison between lab members and the lab heads; respond to their inquiries/requests as appropriate
Coordinate recruitment and appointment of new staff, trainees and faculty for the labs and division
Organize seminar series, special events, advisory board meetings, etc.
Assist with the initiation, planning and development of project methodologies to facilitate division and laboratory initiatives
Assist in acquisition and inventory management for supplies and equipment for division laboratories and with contacting vendors for equipment maintenance and purchasing related matters
Provide administrative support for the K12 training grant and the director of the K12 grant. The K12 grant is an NIH grant to MSK to promote training of clinical translational scientists. Support includes coordinating applications for the program and management of activities under the granting program.
Coordinate the production of an annual report for research activities from the Dept. of Radiation Oncology
An excellent communicator who is able to review, produce, edit materials for Directors, and interact with all levels of individuals from within and outside of the institution
Flexible, detail-oriented and able to work well under time constraints in order to maximize efficient use of time
Proactive in managing, tracking and following-up on numerous projects and activities that need attention
Able to use discretion and judgment with scheduling appointments and triaging phone calls and mail
A High School Diploma or GED; Bachelors degree preferred
A minimum of 4 years of financial or healthcare experience preferred
The ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
