The Terry Fox Foundation is seeking an experienced Provincial Manager responsible for developing fundraising programs throughout the province to support the mission of The Terry Fox Foundation. The Provincial Manager supports the mission of The Terry Fox Foundation by promoting the Annual Fundraising Run in communities, schools and businesses. This role is responsible for the success of the Annual Terry Fox Run in the region as well as day-to-day operations of the regional office. This role reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage existing fundraising events.
Investigate and develop opportunities to promote the Run and the Foundation and to increase the number of events and participants. Recruit new volunteer organizers in communities, schools, businesses and other niche opportunities.
Recruit, train and coordinate run organizers and provide good volunteer experience to ensure run organizers return.
Initiate and maintain contact and rapport with regional media.
Ensure the regional office is properly resourced and provides leadership to regional staff and volunteers.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and provide support to staff, students and office volunteers.
Determine office needs and solicit donations for goods and services to meet requirements.
Represent The Terry Fox Foundation and speak to groups as required (school and community presentations, corporate and media events etc.).
ensure adherence to their guidelines, and maintain good relations with these sources.
Identify, contact, and maintain good relations with groups that can recommend interns or co-op students to support the office.
Maintain strong relationships with supporters.
In conjunction with the Director of Operations respond to queries media, supporters, run organizers, volunteers, participants or donors.
Ensure adherence to Foundation policies and guidelines.
General Office Management
Oversee and engage in all administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the regional office: mailings, deposits, and data base maintenance, inventory management and control, invoice payments, financial reconciliations for regional revenues and expenses, relations with landlords/equipment/service suppliers, timesheets, etc.
Other Responsibilities as Required
Oversee data entry activities for charitable tax receipting.
Skills and Qualifications
5 years of fundraising experience (ideally event based fundraising).
Demonstrated ability to work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment, with changing priorities and multiple projects.
Demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Comfortable taking initiative, a self-starter but able to collaborate with others.
Proven fundraising record.
Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public.
Ability to work cooperatively and build partnerships with community organizations and schools.
An energetic, dedicated, and flexible individual who works well on his or her own and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate and support volunteers.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including a high level of attention to detail and active listening skills.
Experienced in media relations.
Comfortable in public engagements.
A strong knowledge of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Experienced with Microsoft Office environment.
Experienced with Salesforce is an asset.
Able to work flexible hours.
This position requires travel in and out of the province.
Experience planning events is an asset.
Driver’s license and access to a vehicle are a must.
Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency regulations for charities.
