Position Description: Midwestern University College of Pharmacy-Glendale (MWU CPG) in partnership with Banner Health is inviting applications for a PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency in Geriatric Care with an emphasis in academia. The resident will engage in collaborative patient care and provider education in the area of geriatric pharmacy practice (inpatient and outpatient). This residency will provide special focus on academic pharmacy practice and teaching.
Learning Experiences: Orientation, Inpatient pharmacy training, Research, Ambulatory care( geriatric), emergency medicine (geriatric inpatient), Intensive care unit (geriatric inpatient), Academia, Inpatient management, Acute Care Cardiology/Internal medicine, electives
The resident will teach didactic courses offered by the Department of Pharmacy Practice and serve as a practitioner role model in the provision of advanced pharmacy practice experiences for students enrolled in our innovative three calendar year Doctor of Pharmacy program. The resident is expected to complete one major project suitable for publication and present at the Western States Residency Conference. Additional travel and presentations may be required.

Compensation: Salary $48,000

Start Date: July 16, 2018
Pharm.D. plus completion of a PGY-1 ASHP accredited (or pending) program or ASHP approved equivalent experience, commitment to excellence in teaching and patient care, and eligibility for pharmacy licensure in Arizona. The qualified candidate must be strongly committed to interdisciplinary education and teamwork.
Additional Salary Information: may be adjusted/increased for 2018-2019
