Department of Physics and Astronomy at DePauw University invites applications for a term faculty position beginning in August 2018. We seek a colleague to join us in our commitment to inclusive excellence. The initial appointment will be for a period of two years, with a possible extension for one additional year depending on departmental and University needs. Ph.D. preferred.
Candidates should be dedicated to strong undergraduate teaching, have a commitment to the liberal arts, and possess the desire to engage undergraduate students in research and professional activities. Teaching responsibilities include introductory and upper-level undergraduate physics courses. The teaching assignment is three courses per semester. The candidate’s area of expertise is open, but the strongest preference will be for an experimentalist who is able to offer a lively research program that is accessible to undergraduates and has a significant on-campus component. Dedicated research lab space will be provided. DePauw’s exceptional faculty development program includes research start-up funds, and funding for professional and curriculum development.
