Central Washington University-Department of Aviation is seeking a tenure-track assistant/associate professor in Aviation Management beginning in fall 2018. The faculty member is responsible for providing quality instruction to a diverse student population enrolled both in undergraduate and graduate programs in aviation management.
Job Responsibilities: The responsibilities for this position include the following: - Teaches assigned undergraduate and graduate courses in aviation management/administration - Develop new courses, prepare and update course outlines as required - Implement innovative pedagogical tools, including Online learning models - Provide academic advising for aviation students - Assist with the admissions evaluations of incoming aviation students as required - Assist with marketing and recruitment of new students - Conduct scholarly research as per tenure and promotion guidelines - Serve on University and Department committees - Assist department with ongoing accreditation process - Maintains office hours in accordance with University policy - Obtain external grants for research and scholarly contribution
Master's degree in Aviation Management or other related field
Expertise to teach courses related to aviation management such as aviation management, airport management, aviation safety & security, and airlines operations and management.
Three to five years of working experience in the aviation industry
Experience and demonstrated commitment to diversity
Strong writing skills
Doctoral degree in Aviation Management or related field. Candidate with an ABD status can be considered
College teaching experience
Student recruiting experience
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Blackboard

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
Appointment: Full-Time, Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment, Possibility for summer teaching contract when required.
