Provides operational support and stability of University voice, data, video and/or wireless network services. Responsible for the configuration/design, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all facets of the University's data network. This includes local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) switches, routers, firewalls, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and/or wireless and wired access layers. Participates on a team responsible for optimal network performance in a 24x7 environment.
Project Coordination/Implementation; Lead teams responsible for a wide variety of project work aligned with the priorities of other ITS departments. Serve on teams responsible for a wide variety of ITS project work. In addition, leads project planning and vendor meetings related to network data and communications and coordinate among related technical staff. Prepare project specification worksheets, drawings, spreadsheets, inventory
and parts lists.
Monitoring/Troubleshooting; Provide high level operational support to troubleshoot and provide hands-on assistance with crisis resolution of existing systems or services. Prepare documentation related to network design, configuration, processes, disaster recovery and service tickets. Execute established processes to address and resolve service tickets. Prepare, review and update technical documentation on network servers and structures.

Bachelor's degree required. Higher education or large campus/complex experience a plus. Knowledge of network protocols.
Associate Network Engineer salary up to 61K: Minimum of one year of related network engineer or IT industry experience. Experience with VLANs, data switch configuration, network monitoring, and wireless network support.
