Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for the position of RN3/Assistant Nurse Manager for our Radiology/Diagnostic Procedures Department.
Harborview is a level one trauma center for a four state region; a teaching & research hospital for the U.W.; and a public/safety-net hospital.
The RN3/ANM will provide professional nursing care and leadership to develop educational programs, act as clinical resource for staff, and coordinate daily operations; assist the Nurse Manager to develop, maintain, and evaluate the on-going operations of the units.

Under general direction, the professional nurse at the Registered Nurse III level utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to prescribe, prioritize, delegate, coordinate, and provide safe, therapeutic allocation of nursing resources to patients/families. Makes independent judgments/decisions and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex staffing issues. Collaborates with appropriate disciplines to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission through discharge in support of the medical and nursing plans of care.
The Registered Nurse III performs specific leadership functions related to clinical practice, education, and/or management as delegated by and in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. As assigned by the Nurse Manager, assumes patient placement and preceptor responsibility. Provides leadership for unit and departmental activities that promote delivery of quality nursing care, effective problem solving and communication, and continued professional development for self and others.
Serves as role model and provides guidance to other staff including review and evaluation of performance.
Requirements include: 1. BSN degree. 2. Washington State RN License (by time of hire). 3. Minimum two years professional nursing experience, including recent ICU experience.
Desired backgrounds include: 1. Charge nurse experience. 2. Preceptor experience. 3. Other leadership/supervisory experience. 3. National nursing specialty certification.
