The UH Department of Sociology has a research-focused, highly active faculty. Sociology students receive a strong foundation in sociological theory, research methods, and both qualitative and quantitative methods, with nearly 300 majors and 160 minors in the undergraduate program. The Department currently offers undergraduate degrees (B.A. and B.S.) and an M.A. in Sociology. PhD in Sociology is required, as are scholarly publications. While the primary responsibilities of Instructional faculty are teaching, candidates with research experience are preferred. Salary will be based upon qualifications and experience. To be considered for Instructional Associate, applicant will have extensive teaching experience as well as research experience that has resulted in significant scholarly publications commensurate with the rank of Associate, or significant experience in a service capacity at a department, college or university level. The Department of Sociology at the University of Houston invites applications for a promotion eligible, non-tenure track (PE-NTT) Instructional Assistant or Instructional Associate Professor to begin Fall semester 2018. Experience teaching in the areas of Immigration, Criminology, and Family are required. A preference will be given to candidates, who also have experience teaching qualitative or q...uantitative methods and can contribute to our summer course on Immigration in Houston.
