EDUCAUSE (http://www.educause.edu), a national nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology, invites applications for the position of Human Resources and Talent Manager.
The HR and Talent Manager role is the first at EDUCAUSE and offers the opportunity to impact the culture and work experience within the organization. The HR and Talent Manager will provide leadership, support, advocacy, vision and technical recruiting support across the organization through the use of creative sourcing methods. The Manager will be responsible for full life-cycle recruiting and onboarding including job analysis, postings, applicant tracking, pre-employment screening, and recommending placement of staff (internal and external). The HR and Talent Manager supports the development and implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to promote and foster an open and inclusive environment within EDUCAUSE. The Manager also supports and assists with HR operations and initiatives within in the Human Resources department.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Talent Acquisition Program Development
Serves as a business partner with hiring managers to develop effective sourcing and recruitment strategies that result in client satisfaction.
Develops and implements creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to attract and build a pipeline of qualified candidates, including diverse candidates.
Creates and maintains an environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity and competitive advantage in support of the company's diversity and inclusion goals in the strategic plan.
Develops advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates and diverse audiences.
Develops and coordinates internal job posting program and writes job postings; places job advertising in various media.
Writes job descriptions or reviews and edits job descriptions written by others and to reflect EDUCAUSE values relative to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Evolves onboarding program to ensure a welcoming and inclusive experience.
Recruiting and Selection Program Management
Serves as an expert for recruiting practices and sourcing candidates. Advises hiring managers of needed adjustments to candidate pools to meet diversity objectives.
Reviews and screens resumes, interviews candidates (virtually or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and delivers employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt position openings.
Assists hiring managers with tracking applicant data including work history, education, demographics, training, job skills, and salary requirements.
Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates.
Manage full life-cycle recruitment (post, source, pre-screen, schedule, background screen, references, offer, onboarding, etc.). Complete hiring process within defined metrics to minimize overall time-to-start.
Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting and onboarding process.
Human Resources Support and Administration
Participates in new employee onboarding to foster positive attitude toward EDUCAUSE goals. Supports the HR onboarding process by communicating the status of employment candidates and at what stage they are in the process.
Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
Trains management in interviewing, hiring, onboarding practices, promotions, and terminations, especially unconscious bias and diverse recruiting and hiring strategies.
Supports the administrative functions of the Human Resources Department.
Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate in accordance with compensation philosophy.
Assists with the administration of HR programs such as employee benefits and enrollment, maintaining personnel records, recruiting and applicant records, completing benchmarking surveys and audits, researching tax jurisdictions for multi-state workforce, and performance review processes.

Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in field related to Human Resources is desired or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources or Recruiting
Track record in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion efforts
Minimum 3 years’ customer service, employee management and supervision
A Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR or SHRM-SCP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR or SHRM-CP) certification is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
At least 1 year in MS Office Suite, payroll and/or HRIS administration; familiarity with ADP a plus
Working knowledge of employment laws and practices.
Willingness to learn and adopt global and cultural awareness practices within the recruiting lifecycle.
The ability to interact and communicate effectively with staff across all departments, levels, and locations; ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
An understanding and practice of confidentiality concerning personnel and employment matters.
Advanced interpersonal, mediation, writing, and critical thinking skills; ability to effectively consult with executives, management and employees; ability to speak/present in front of large groups.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Must be familiar with current technologies enabling telework and communication (video conferencing, conducting meetings via conference call, electronic distribution of information).
Excellent project management skills with strong execution and follow-through.
