The George Mason University Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Team—within Information Technology Services (ITS) located on the Fairfax, Va., campus—is seeking an experienced MicroStrategy Analyst/Report Developer. Develop complex reports, modify existing reports, and provide technical support to university report writers;
Assist the data mart team in functional and performance testing strategies for new and existing reports; and
Develop training material and conduct training sessions for users of the various university data marts.
Individuals have must have significant working knowledge of SQL, preferably with Oracle databases; knowledge of data warehouse architecture; and experience with business intelligence reporting tools, preferably with MicroStrategy. Additional required qualifications include:
B.S. or higher degree in a computer science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Demonstrates significant working knowledge of SQL queries;
Experience developing reports in a business intelligence tool or a reporting tool such as MicroStrategy, IBM Cognos, SAP Crystal Reports or Microsoft Access;
Excellent communication skills for supporting both functional area users and ITS technical staff;
Ability to multitask; and
Demonstrates working knowledge of data warehouse design and star schema methodology.
Experience developing reports in MicroStrategy;
Understanding of MicroStrategy architecture and operations;
Experience with Oracle Databases; and
Performance tuning of SQL queries.
