Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Manager I for the Finance department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The primary purpose of the Business Manager I position is to develop, monitor and report on clinical practice revenue and to oversee decision support and analytics section of CINJ Finance to aid management business decision making. This includes complex business modeling, forecasting, market and what-if scenario analyses, benchmarking, and productivity assessments. This position is a primary liaison for collaborations with RWJUH/RWJB, RWJMG/RHG, and clinical entities for developing and overseeing clinical partnerships. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Creates effective work plans and works closely with staff by supervising and addressing their training needs in order to achieve competency of work performance and understanding of clinical enterprise functions.
Oversees the standardization and coordination of all clinical decision support data with focus on accounting and benchmarking.
Manages the development of meaningful operational, clinical, variance and financial analyses including development of profitability studies and performance.
Manages internal and external market and complex data analyses as well as data interpretation.
Responsible for fair market value analyses and business plans to determine optimum market valuation for Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey services, profitability and compliance with applicable regulations.
Promotes physician and clinic productivity through effectively designed and implemented physician practice incentive plans, benchmarking and other productivity measurements.
Oversees billings for all revenue components of the enhanced cancer services contract, personnel leases and other clinical programs. This includes designing and maintaining time/effort systems and data collection processes.
Directs the development and delivery of regular and ad hoc reports to individual Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey faculty, management and external partners regarding performance of clinic practice and partnerships.
Collaborates with RWJUH management, RWJMG (faculty practice group), Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey clinic support unit heads and faculty leadership to enhance revenue cycle, increase productivity and resolve clinic issues.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
Five (5) years of professional auditing and/or accounting experience in a health care/academic environment.
Two (2) years of experience in personnel supervision and ability to supervise in a unionized environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of financial database systems and reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Outstanding human relations and leadership skills, the ability to function in a team environment and demonstrated knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment.
