The Department of Writing and Rhetoric at Oakland University seeks applicants specializing in first-year writing for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 15, 2018.
The successful candidate will pursue an active research agenda in first-year writing, teach courses in the first-year writing and undergraduate major programs, and provide service to the department. Teaching load is competitive.
We seek candidates who are committed to first-year instruction, but who also may have specializations in professional/technical writing or writing for digital media that would allow them to teach upper-level courses in our writing and rhetoric major. Candidates must demonstrate experience with, or a commitment to, diversity and inclusion.
Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or a related field is required. Candidates who are “ABD” will be considered if their degree requirements will be completed by August 15, 2018.
