Detailed Job Description
Interact with a cross functional work team to provide customer support to RIT’s Division of Development and Alumni Relations, and all users of RIT’s donor management system and alumni online community.
Supports software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
Participate in efforts to identify and implement best practices and data standards for the division.
Perform quality assurance testing and data verification on stored procedures and scripts authored by other team members.
Accomplish reengineering efforts of software applications as identified to accomplish divisional goals.
Develop and maintain clear and complete documentation for all reports, stored procedures and custom tables.
Support the data interface and system integration models between the Advance application and other RIT systems of record.
Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Provide day-to-day oversight and maintenance of database stored procedures and custom tables, including the organization, import and extraction of data to/from database tables.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements: BS in Management Information Systems, Information Technology or similar field
Working knowledge Oracle or other relational databases
Minimum 3 years of experience with SQL, PL/SQL, or similar tools for extracting and manipulating data
Minimum 3 years of experience with .Net, C#, Java or other object oriented programming language
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access
Demonstrated knowledge of one or more donor database systems
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Able to maintain a high level of security and ethical standards when dealing with confidential information.
Required Minimum Education Level
3-5 years of experience with SQL, PL/SQL, or similar tools for extracting and manipulating data
3-5 years of experience with .Net, C#, Java or other object oriented programming language
Working knowledge of Ellucian Advance Web system a plus.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines requested by a diverse group of persons with emphasis on a high level quality of customer service
Strong intuitive, organizational, attention-to-detail and interpersonal skills
A strong understanding of the systems development lifecycle and industry best practices
