Assistant Director, Maryland Poison Center Operations & Public Health Education - (170001NX)
University of Maryland Baltimore is currently seeking an Assistant Director, Maryland Poison Center Operations & Public Health Education. The selected candidate assists the executive director in managing daily operations of the Maryland Poison Center, and has responsibility for the development of public education programs and materials and for the implementation of the Poison Center's Public Information and Outreach Program. Assumes responsibility for the center in the absence of the executive director. Provides staffing support for twenty-four hour poison information services as needed.

Assists executive director in the development and implementation of MPC's daily operations standards, strategies and initiatives that align with the mission and strategic priorities of the university, the school, and the center.
Assists executive director with administrative responsibilities and special assignments. Maintains established procedures concerning center operation standards, quality assurance, and record keeping.
Leads performance improvement processes related to call center operations.
Responsible for the managing the staffing and scheduling functions of twenty-four hour emergency operation call center.
Assists executive director in developing and motivating MPC staff to accomplish established objectives. Provides coaching and mentoring to center staff.
Manages Center administrative staff responsible for fulfilling educational materials order requests and mailings, scheduling and tracking educational program presentations, and inventory control and ordering.
Responsible for the strategic development and implementation of MPC public education programs which includes the development and production of education and outreach materials, and the organization and implementation of ongoing Poison Prevention Week activities.
Leads the Center's administrative staff to develop and monitor online order system for requests for educational materials. Trains volunteers to present poison safety programs and provide poison safety information at health fairs.
Produces regular public education newsletters about current poison information topics and trends pertaining to various age groups. Leads the MPC professional and administrative staff to expand and maintain MPC website and social media presence.
Promotes services of the MPC at various injury prevention coalitions throughout the state. Responds to inquiries from various media outlets, including television, radio and print. Writes related articles as needed.
Co-author MPC Annual Reports. Summarizes and interpret annual public education program data.
Staffs twenty-four hour call center as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy and current pharmacist licensure in good standing that will be reciprocal with State of Maryland Board of Pharmacy. PharmD is preferred and can be used to substitute for relevant experience. Experience: Five (5) years spent progressively building a background in the various departmental functions with at least 1 year of experience at the management/leadership level. Other: Able to secure and retain an active State of Maryland Pharmacist license for employment. Weekend, holiday, rotating shift work, on-call and overtime may be required.
