Responsible for Federal and State financial aid programs of the Student Financial Aid Office (SFAO) including eligibility evaluation, reconciliation, and system process; provides leadership and guidance to two program managers and an advisor. The employee will report to the Director Student Financial Aid – Compliance and Processing. In performing these duties, the employee will:
Supervise a Federal & State programs unit consisting of a Program Manager--Direct Lending, Program Manager--Grants, and an Advisor--Loans. Set annual goals and objectives. Monitor progress, ensures process completion, and conduct performance evaluations. Provide day-to-day supervisory instruction and direction in the processing and reconciliation of all federal and state financial aid programs including but not limited to Federal Pell Grant, Federal Campus-Based Programs, Federal Direct Loans, and Ohio College Opportunity Grant.
Monitor compliance matters related to federal and state grant programs. Ensure regulatory requirements of TIV programs are met. Develop and implement QA procedures for maintaining compliance. Coordinate R2T4 adjustments with Bursar staff. Maintain neutral historical alternative loan lender list and serve as liaison to lenders. Responsible for sending disclosures and documenting student completion of self-certification process for Nursing and Health Professions Loan programs to maintain compliance with TILA regulations
Execute and monitor batch processes. Assist in resolving exceptions and resolve issues with student records to ensure accuracy. Run ad hoc and scheduled queries. Assist in yearly systems rollover and testing.
Monitor usage of all campus-based aid to meet expenditure goals and to prevent overspending. Ensure reconciliation of all programs completed in a timely fashion. Monitor payments and refunds to federal and state providers.
As a member of the SFAO management team, participate in on-going professional development activities. Present financial aid information at both on and off-campus events. Participate in SFAO, Enrollment Management (EM), and Student Affairs and Services (SAS) activities.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with three (3) years' experience; -OR- Associate's degree with five (5) years' experience; -OR- seven years' experience. Experience must be in student services or related field (i.e., counseling, compliance or computer systems). Experience may require at least one (1) year supervision.
