This 9-month tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor serves the Department of Leadership Studies and Adult Education in the College of Education at North Carolina A&T State University. The successful candidate:
-Teaches leadership theories and practice, decision making theories, strategic planning and organizational dynamics, leadership development and training, African-American leadership experiences, women in leadership, leadership and politics, research methodology courses, and other graduate-level courses as assigned -Designs, teaches, and facilitates small and large group experiential learning activities in a blended learning environment -Participates in dissertation advisement and serves on dissertation committees -Contributes to the scholarly enterprise of the doctoral program, the College of Education, and the university community which includes procuring extramural grant funding, publishing in top-tier peer-reviewed journals, and conducting presentations at state, regional, national, and international professional meetings and conferences -Attends department, college, and university faculty meetings -Serves on department, college, and university committees and participates in other activities as assigned -Remains current in theory and practice related to program content -Supports community engagement activities

Through its commitment to civic engagement, transformative research, and creative scholarship, the interdisciplinary Leadership Studies doctoral program produces leaders who are critical thinkers and social justice advocates capable of transforming organizations and institutions to maximize human potential. This program is designed for individuals with proven leadership backgrounds across various disciplines who desire to conduct leadership research and inquiry within the discipline area. This program aligns with the vision and mission of the College of Education, which is a learning centered organization that prepares educational and human service leaders who create, use, and share knowledge on equity, access, and advocacy in local, national, and global communities. The College offers degrees at the baccalaureate, master's and doctoral levels.

Doctorate in interdisciplinary leadership studies or a closely related discipline from an accredited university by anticipated date of appointment. Previous experience teaching graduate candidates, particularly doctoral candidates, at an accredited four-year institution of higher education with a record of scholarly activity commensurate with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
We seek a colleague with demonstrated experience providing high quality instruction to graduate candidates, particularly doctoral candidates; a proven record of chairing and/or serving on dissertation or thesis research committees.
Preferred candidates will have a demonstrated record of scholarly productivity commensurate with an appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This activity includes manuscript publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals, procurement of extramural funds, and presentations facilitated at well-respected meetings and conferences.
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated expertise in research methodology and knowledge of pertinent theories and practices as they relate to program content as well as a proven ability to use adult learning strategies in both face-to-face and virtual settings and the ability to work with diverse adult populations in academic and professional working relationships.
