This 9-month tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor serves the Department of Leadership Studies and Adult Education in the College of Education at North Carolina A&T State University. The successful candidate provides instruction to graduate candidates in the department with an emphasis on doctoral courses focused on quantitative research, statistics, and other research courses relevant to a doctoral degree in leadership studies.
The candidate advises doctoral level students and chairs dissertation research. The successful candidate is expected to engage in scholarly activities grounded in a clearly articulated research agenda. These activities include publishing manuscripts in top-tier peer-reviewed journals, procuring extramural grant funds, and disseminating research findings at well-respected international and national conferences and meetings in the discipline area.

This program is designed for individuals with proven leadership backgrounds across various disciplines who desire to conduct leadership research and inquiry within the discipline area. This program aligns with the vision and mission of the College of Education, which is a learning centered organization that prepares educational and human service leaders who create, use, and share knowledge on equity, access, and advocacy in local, national, and global communities. Doctorate in interdisciplinary leadership studies or a closely related discipline from an accredited university by the anticipated date of appointment. Previous experience teaching graduate candidates, particularly doctoral candidates, at an accredited four-year institution of higher education with a record of scholarly activity commensurate with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
We seek a colleague with demonstrated experience providing high quality instruction to graduate candidates, particularly doctoral candidates, in quantitative research and statistics. Preferred candidates will possess a proven record of chairing and/or serving on dissertation or thesis research committees. The preferred candidate will have a demonstrated record of scholarly productivity commensurate with an appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This activity includes manuscript publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals, procurement of extramural funds, and presentations facilitated at well-respected meetings and conferences.
The preferred candidate will demonstrate expertise in quantitative research methodology and knowledge of statistical designs. The preferred candidate will also demonstrate proven ability to use adult learning strategies in both face-to-face and virtual settings and the ability to work with diverse adult populations in academic and professional working relationships.
