The Audio-Visual Engineer will be the design, integration, consultation, and project management lead for A/V IT needs for the School of Medicine as part of the larger School of Medicine IT organization. The incumbent will need to be familiar with various software packages and the hardware utilized in the audiovisual industry. The A/V Engineer will assist and support units /department with the use of specific software and assigned AV systems. The candidate needs to be able to identify technology trends and assess how these maybe utilized and implemented to help meet customer needs. As this position will be working with leadership, stakeholders, and users throughout the School of Medicine, the incumbent must be able to communicate complex technical knowledge effectively; in a manner that is accessible to all customers. This position will manage projects from conception to completion, to include multiple projects with high dollar A/V budgets, and collaborate with the School of Medicine IT Project Management Office when appropriate. The A/V Engineer will manage requests independently, monitor progress against defined parameters with minimal supervision, and consistently handle support requests quickly, effectively and maintain a positive relationship with clients.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration; Networking Technology, or related areas and two years of experience in the Information Technology field related to the position’s role; or a - Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position’s role, or a - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position’s role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Journey level requires an additional one year of experience. - Advanced level requires an additional two years of experience.
Must be able to move 50 lbs. Ability to provide documentation and communicate with both technical and non-technical people is essential. High level of customer service ability and ability to work either independently or on a team is also a requirement.
CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I certification.
