Postdoctoral Fellow-Institute for Genome Science - (170000D5)
The Institute for Genome Sciences (IGS) invites applications for a postdoctoral position to work with Rebecca Brotman, PhD, MPH on two human microbiome projects funded by the National Institutes of Health.
We are seeking a candidate who is interested to study the role of the human microbiome in relation to women's health. The work will primarily focus on how the vaginal microbiome provides protection from pathogens, as well as assessing how time-varying factors affect the microbiota.
This position requires a highly motivated candidate with a doctoral degree in Epidemiology or Biostatistics. Applicants should have excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research group. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience in longitudinal data analysis, epidemiology of infectious diseases, women's health, database management and microbial genomics.
Postdoctoral fellows have the opportunity to gain training in the molecular epidemiology of the human microbiome, genomics of infectious diseases, human microbial metagenomics, and bioinformatics as well as longitudinal data analysis. Postdoctoral fellows at IGS beneﬁt from a community of interactive research labs, bioinformatics experts and a variety of state of the art sequencing, and computational resources in a world-class institute dedicated to genomic, basic, and translational research.
