Th e Departments of Biochem i s try & Molecular Biology, and Pathology a t the University of Maryland, School of Medic i ne , are continuing an expansion. Highly qua l ified individuals will be cons i dered at the Ass istan t, Associate and Full Professor l eve l s. The departme n ts have significant strengths i n cancer biology, cell signaling, structural biology and drug screening, translational biology, and i maging, and a highly successful graduate trai n ing prog ram. The expans i on will i nclude positions in solid tumor biology for several cancers. However, we are particularly interested in investigators uti l izing biochem i ca l , cellular, an i mal and omics approaches to understand protein and ce ll function .
Successful candidates are expected to establis h and ma i ntain an active/funded r esearch program, and participate in departmental teaching and service opportunities. The Medica l School and Department a r e highly ranked with respect to NIH fun d ing. The Departmen ts provide excellent laboratory facilities, competitive salaries and startup packages , and access to nu merous core facilities.
