The E.W. Scripps School of Journalism invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in strategic communication. Successful candidates will teach courses in advertising and public relations in the strategic communication track, will maintain an active research agenda and/or professional creative activity, and will be responsible for advising students at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in journalism, communications, marketing, business or a related-field by the start date of the appointment and strong professional experience in advertising or public relations.
Specific courses the position will teach include strategic social media, PR and advertising research, and PR and advertising theory. This person in this position will be expected to chair and serve on thesis and dissertation committees.

Strong industry/professional experience with at least two years of experience in public relations and/or advertising required
At least five years of industry experience, at least two years teaching experience, strong research publication record, experience working with graduate students.
