The Partnership manages the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District (BID), 14th Street General Improvement District (GID), Denver Theater District (DTD), Downtown Denver Events, Inc. (DDE), Denver Civic Ventures, Inc. (DCV), and Downtown Denver, Inc., (DDI).
About this Position
The Transportation and Mobility Manager is responsible for managing and implementing the Downtown Denver Partnership’s transportation and mobility programs including management of the Partnership’s Transportation Outreach Specialist. Duties also include participation in select urban planning and transportation initiatives and processes that directly affect Downtown transportation and mobility, such as Denver Moves. As well as coordination and advocacy for public policies that balance and enhance transportation options and the pedestrian environment in Downtown, and management and oversight of the Partnership’s sustainability efforts.
In this position you can expect to:
Develop and manage the mission, objectives and budget of the DDP’s Connections program, including management of the Partnership’s Transportation Outreach Specialist.
Prepare and implement strategic plans that address improving access and mobility, including the development of programs for Downtown businesses, visitors and destinations that increase transportation options for Downtown employees, visitors and residents.
Participate in select urban planning processes and advocate for the inclusion of improved transportation options for Downtown Denver in local and regional planning processes and committees,
Draft and oversee implementation of TMA agreements with the Denver Regional Council of Governments, Regional Transportation District (RTD), and City of Denver. Serve as representative for programs and efforts included in these agreements include Bike to Work Day, GoTober, annual Commuter Survey and parking inventory.
Act as staff lead for managing DDP’s Mobility Council.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education: Requires a bachelor’s degree in urban planning, transportation planning, or related field.
Experience: Minimum five years’ experience in urban planning, transportation planning, or related field is desired.
If you have
Knowledge of urban transportation policies and programs, including transportation planning and transportation demand management
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel and Power Point.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition to experience in working with diverse groups of people including business leaders, employers, developers, public agencies, and business and neighborhood associations
