This is the place to do your life's best work.(sm) The Vice President, BriovaRx Specialty Contracting develops the provider network (physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, ancillary groups & facilities, etc.) yielding a geographically competitive, broad access, stable network that achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management, and produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners. The Vice President will evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls. Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with Hospital, Physician, Pharmacy, or Ancillary providers, and ensuring the network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties. Primary Responsibilities: Develop, translate and execute strategies or functional / operational objectives for a region, line of business, or major portion of a business segment functional areaApply network configuration and incentive-based payment models as appropriate to improve quality and efficiencyDirect others to resolve highly complex or unusual business problems that affect major functions or disciplinesDrive programs that impact markets of customers and consumersDeveloping and managing pharmaceutical manufacturer relationships for specialty productsEvaluating, negotiating, and managing various manufacturer contracts (e.g. discounts, fee-for-service programs, data arrangements, limited distribution access)Managing a cross-functional team that supports all aspects of specialty contract initiation, administration, and pull throughProvide collaborative and strategic insight and direction for specialty product launches, pipeline products, and patient care services across the UHG organizationIn collaboration with key internal stakeholders, provide insight into specialty financial forecasting, pricing, and other financial initiatives across the UHG organizationServe as a specialty subject matter expert as neededDevelop, translate and execute specialty strategies and functional / operational objectives for OptumRx, BriovaRx, and BriovaRx Infusion Services as related to specialty contractingDrive specialty strategies to advance patient care, improve access to specialty products, and enhance the organization-s overall financial performanceMeet and/or exceed assigned departmental goalsDirect and mentor a cross-functional team and cultivate employee growth and development
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline (Pharmacist or Nurse) or graduate degree with relevant healthcare experience15+ years' experience in the health care industry10+ years' experience in a specialty-related role managing complex manufacturer contracts and relationships with accountability for business results10+ years' experience with developing and managing pharmaceutical manufacturer relationships or working in the pharmaceutical industry10+ years of people management experience10+ years' experience with financial planning and forecastingExpert level of knowledge of specialty pharmacy and US healthcare issuesProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointCareers with OptumRx.
