The Reading Room/Access Services Supervisor is a frontline member of a very busy, highly esteemed, and team-oriented academic special collections reference/public services department.
The supervisor reports directly to the SCRC Reference and Access Services Librarian and is responsible for managing the operations of the Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) Reading Room and supervising undergraduate and graduate student workers, working collaboratively with the Reference and Access Services Librarian when managing graduate student workers' reference activities.
Additionally, the supervisor will research and answer reference questions; participate in the reference desk rotation; supervise the shelving, retrieval, and re-shelving of rare and archival materials; manage patron requests for duplication of collection materials; and work on other projects as assigned. Occasional evening hours required.
