The Compensation Analyst performs compensation salary analysis, conducts classification studies, develops compensation reports, and handles wage implementations. This position interfaces with human resources colleagues and designated campus clients/departments.
The Compensation & Classification unit is responsible for administering compensation for approximately 2500 employees covered by UC policy or one of eleven (11) collective bargaining agreements.
Work-site location is UCSC Scotts Valley Center at 100 Enterprise Way, Scotts Valley, CA.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Ability to work long periods of time at a computer with or without accommodation.
Per the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA), this position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter. The selected candidate will be required to report known or suspected child abuse or neglect as defined by CANRA and will be required to sign a Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse prior to commencing employment.
Bachelor degree in related area and/or any combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of compensation and classification practices and procedures that are compliant with relevant federal and state laws, and affirmative action plans.
Experience reviewing job descriptions and conducting job analysis to assign appropriate classification levels based on classification specifications, internal and external comparisons, and compliance with FLSA standards.
Effective listening and verbal communication skills with the ability to comprehend and respond in a flexible and professional manner and relate to complex information with clarity and accuracy to a varied audience.
Strong writing skills with the ability to produce correspondence and complete forms and reports using accurate grammar, style and punctuation.
