The Department of Pathology - a collaborative team focused on one goal: delivering the proper scientific diagnosis in the most expert manner. We receive approximately 25,000 major surgical resection specimens and perform about 45 autopsies annually. We have recently completed renovation of our entire Surgical Laboratories - Gross Room, including 15 ThermoFisher senior grossing stations, Histology Lab and IHC Lab.
We are currently seeking experienced Histology Technicians to join our Pathology Department. We have multiple evening and overnight positions available.

Processes fresh and fixed tissue specimens for surgical, autopsy, and investigative histopathology preparations under supervision.
Performs assigned quality control procedures.
Records daily, weekly, and monthly quality control and preventive maintenance activities.
Performs preventive maintenance activities as scheduled, documenting on appropriate logs.
Work at one of our facilities in New York City (Relocation assistance available for this job, pending completion of 6 months employment).
Equivalent of 2 years of college with knowledge of biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology.
New York State Clinical Laboratory Technician or Histology Technician certification/license.
1 year experience in histopathology techniques.
Excellent communication skills - including verbal, written and computer.
ASCP Certification strongly preferred.
Hours of work:
37.5 hours per week.
Different days available, including weekends.
Evening shifts are 3 pm -11 pm and 4 pm - 12 am.
Overnight shift is 10:00pm - 6:00am.
