Advertised Summary Job Description: The Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing and presenting data points pertaining to operational and revenue cycle programs and initiatives occurring in the Department of Pediatrics.
-Responsible for collecting and running dashboards for the Department whose reporting points include, but are not limited to, work RVUs, patient volumes, clinical FTE metrics, denial data, and other performance and revenue indicators -Departmental liaison with Columbia Doctors/Patient Experience team to report on and analyze trends in patient satisfaction and access reports to identify areas for improvement and data consistency -Creates new reports or dashboards as needed for the department in a clear and organized fashion and is able to offer several options in regards to data analysis and presentation -Required to pull data points from a variety of Columbia Doctors and Hospital based systems in order to produce deliverables with complete and accurate information -Liaises with key IT and Patient experience team from both the hospital and Columbia Doctors groups to develop standardized methods to receive and report on data and seeks opportunity to avoid or eliminate redundancy -Develop root cause analysis when key metrics are not achieved -Lead, develop and conduct various analyses for the department based on the need -Provide sophisticated and meaningful analyses using to senior leadership -All other duties as assigned.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus two years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: ?Working knowledge of and compliance with compliance and regulatory agencies, i.e., OSHA, TJC. ?Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with an interdisciplinary clinical team including multi-specialty physicians. Ability to communicate and collaborate with hospital and medical center personnel. ?Superior data analytics skills. ?Must have strong organization skills. ?Strong communication skills both written and verbal. 2-3 years' experience in healthcare or business field, preferably with Electronic Medical Record knowledge. ?Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. ?Analytics experience with Patient Access, Revenue Integrity and Revenue Recovery. ?Knowledge of healthcare financial Key Performance and Operational Indicators (KPI/KOI).
