Pharmacists in the ambulatory setting work with a multidisciplinary team of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and affiliate staff to implement the highest quality of care for our patients and provide service for the adult ambulatory clinics, a pediatric ambulatory clinic and the investigational drug service. Responsibilities include participation in clinical projects and initiatives, such as oral chemotherapy teaching and clinical pathways, preparation and dispensing of medications, optimizing drug therapy by identifying, resolving and preventing drug-related problems, counseling patients and providing drug information, precepting pharmacy students and residents, conducting in-service training for pharmacy, nursing and medicine, supporting clinical research and participating in multidisciplinary teams and committees. Opportunities for specialty practice include: Gynecological Oncology, Anticoagulation, Palliative Care, Stem Cell Transplant and Hematologic malignancies.
