Position Purpose: The Access Services Coordinator supports learning by providing leadership and management for the Access Services Department including services for students at all Aurora University locations and AU Online. The Access Services Coordinator implements and improves systems to provide print and electronic resources from consortia libraries and interlibrary loan. The Access Services Coordinator supervises student workers to provide outstanding customer service through circulation and course reserves.

Interacts effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students and other customers of our service, learns and uses operating practices of the department and Aurora University.

Essential Job Functions:
Manage all access services operations for a small university library; including circulation services, reserves, interlibrary loan, and day-to-day operation of the help desk.
Manage OCLC interlibrary loan software (ILLiad) for processing incoming and outgoing electronic and print requests.
Oversee, manage, and improve access to services at university off-site campuses, including George Williams College and Woodstock Center locations.
Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate part-time student assistants for circulation desk and interlibrary loan department.
Maintain patron records; oversee follow-up system for material return; interface with university student accounts department regarding delinquent patron accounts.
Maintain patron records including preparation of data loads of new student records at the beginning of each term using the university's systems and CARLI's Voyager ILS.
Oversee Phillips Library copyright compliance services for print and electronic resources.
Essential Job Requirements:
LTA Certificate or library coursework preferred.
Library access services or circulation services experience required.
Academic library experience preferred.
Knowledge of Voyager, ILLiad and OCLC preferred.
Demonstrated managerial, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Possess high customer service standards. A collaborative disposition. Willingness to work with library colleagues in a rapidly changing information environment. Ability to work collaboratively with other campus departments and individuals.
Communicates effectively to student patrons, co-workers, and the campus community both orally and in writing.
Willingness to learn detail-oriented processes to implement and improve workflows.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
May include prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
Ability to move about campus.
