University of Maryland Baltimore is currently seeking a Pharmacist to join the School of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Practice and Science. The selected candidate provides clinical and dispensing services at the professional level for the Springfield Hospital Center in Sykesville, MD. May have responsibilities in the administration and/or supervision of staff or drug utilization reporting. No nights and weekends.

Dispenses and distributes medications.
Reviews and interprets medical orders; provides drug information and recommends drug therapies to physicians.
Reviews patient medication profiles. Actively monitors medication use in individual patients and populations.
Reviews, analyzes and interprets patient information including health records, medical forms, laboratory work and records of past medication use.
Interacts with prescribers and other health professionals regarding appropriate medication use, medication safety and pharmacotherapeutic monitoring.
Conducts drug utilization reviews.
Provides quality improvement services necessary for accreditation, certification or maintenance of licenses and permits.
Provides direct patient care in accordance with clinical privileges.
May precept pharmacy students
May dispense medications and observe patient reactions in conjunction with a clinical trial.
May perform administrative duties, such as staff scheduling, supervision of pharmacy technicians, and coordination of drug utilization reporting.
May coordinate programs or projects related to the use and monitoring of medications.
Bachelor's degree in pharmacy and current pharmacist licensure in good standing that will be reciprocal with State of Maryland Board of Pharmacy. Pharm.D. preferred. Residency training preferred.
Able to secure and retain an active State of Maryland Pharmacist license for employment.
PREFERRED: Previous experience working in the hospital

Hiring Range: Starting mid to high $90K - Commensurate with education and experience
