On-call Desk Clerk: Cheerfully greet students, staff, and visitors in person or by phone and provides information, policies and procedures as requested. Receive, record, and distribute U.S. mail, as well as U.P.S., Fed Ex, and other packages. Enter packages into online package distribution system. Occasionally carrying or lifting loads of 25 to 49lbs.Observe security doors and lobby; check students I.D.'s; screen visitors and guests notifying residents or Security as necessary using knowledge of fire alarm procedures. Keep alert to unusual circumstances, take appropriate action and follow up with incidents reports as needed. Maintain residents/guests/visitors sign-in/sign out sheets. Check out and follow up for return of borrowed cleaning and recreation equipment and keys; maintain the appropriate forms and records. Responsible for accessing the automated on-call system in order to secure replacements of desk clerks. Request front desk stationary and office supplies via e-mail; stock when received. Provide routine orientation to new employees as requested. Perform other tasks as requested. Complete incident reports as needed. Perform other tasks as requested which may require knowledge of fire alarm procedures. Keeping alert to unusual circumstances, taking appropriate action and following up with incidents reports as needed.Typically does not include work during the summer, winter or spring breaks when the buildings are scheduled to be closed with a few exceptions. On-call Desk Clerks must work at least one shift every 30 days (month) to remain active, otherwise they will be removed from the on-call list.
