Responsible for coordinating, organizing and supporting HIV-related clinical research data activities at the Antiviral Research Center (AVRC). Assists with data and quality management activities based on key indicators from the AVRC Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Assists with organization and preparation for data entry, curation, and analysis. Works with research staff to update and improve data entry timeliness and accuracy. Performs quality control and quality assurance on data keyed into study specific databases. Responsible for coordinating the accuracy, timeliness, error correction, delinquencies, site discrepancies and efficient flow of data from collection to electronic transmission. Assures that all serious adverse events are reported according to sponsor guidelines. Designs, modifies, and administers computer-assisted self-interview (CASI) surveys. Assists in taking corrective action on monthly data management reports. Works with data management staff to develop forms that meet the needs of the research agenda and simplifies data collection.
Theoretical knowledge of a biological science or related field.
Demonstrated experience designing and using patient focused questionnaires with a focus on creating simple, concise easily understandable data collection methods.
Demonstrated experience working with research questionnaire quality control/assurance procedures.
Demonstrated proficiency with PC computers to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint software.
Knowledge of the principles of quality data management and form development in relation to data collection for a research protocol.
Independent judgement and discretion along with superior organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills according to set procedures and ability to establish new procedures when warranted.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of research subjects involved in HIV treatment trials.
Knowledge of basic programming techniques and/or the ability to learn them and apply them towards the design of data collection procedures and surveys.
Maintain confidentiality of research subjects in HIV treatment studies.
Occasional weekends and evening work.
