Under general supervision, incumbent provides psychological services including diagnostic evaluations, assessments, treatment planning, and individual therapy and group therapy for adults in the Department of Psychiatry Outpatient Psychiatric Service. Provides couples and family psychotherapy as indicated. Provides services for patients with less complex interacting disorders. Incumbent works collaboratively with psychiatrists and other mental health providers in a team approach. Conducts special assessments and writes integrative reports; provides information and referral regarding other health, mental health and social resources as indicated. Maintains license, engages in professional and community activities which include participating in inter-departmental committees and in conferences with fellow staff and team members.
A Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology and a current license to practice psychology in California and preferably one year of post-doctoral experience in clinical psychology.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with ethnically and culturally diverse populations and co-workers, exercising tact, flexibility and diplomacy. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing within Multidisciplinary Team Setting.
In-depth knowledge and demonstrated skill in provision of individual, group, and family psychotherapy.
Demonstrated skill and experience in providing Evidenced Based Practice Services including Short Term Therapy and Bereavement/ Grief Therapy.
Experience in private practice model delivery of mental health services, as well as hospital based treatment team collaboration.
Knowledge and skill in problem-focused psychotherapeutic interventions and a thorough working knowledge of DSM-IV and DSM-5 categories and differential diagnosis.
Experience in conducting special assessments and writing integrative reports.
Proven ability to provide information and referral regarding other health, mental health and social resources as indicated.
