The Dissemination and Implementation Science Core (DISC), funded through the NIH-funded Flint Center for Health Equity Solutions, is designed to conduct innovative science on the adoption, uptake, sustainment and scale-up of evidence-based health interventions within the Flint community to reduce health disparities in service access and utilization. These efforts involve working collaboratively with academic and community directors within the Center and key community stakeholders of health efforts in Flint. The Flint Center for Health Equity Solutions (FCHES) is comprised of several Cores and two research projects that collaborate together with a shared goal of increased community health and generating knowledge to reduce health inequities for under-served communities.
The Project Administrator will report to the DISC Project Director and Center Administrator and work closely with the Project Research Associate. The Project Administrator is responsible for conducting day-to-day work of the DISC activities, and working closely with the academic and community directors of the Center cores, community organizations, and organizational staff and community service providers. Duties include: General project management of the DISC project activities, including advising the Project Director and Research Associate on necessary project adjustments based on findings within the Center cores and research projects, working on protocol/material development that evaluates organizational-level factors (e.g., implementation readiness) and implementation outcomes essential to the success of the DISC and FCHES research projects, aiding in the coordination of information and meetings for DISC study team and FCHES cores, coordinating the strategic planning process; participant recruitment, data collection and analysis, and evaluation of the DISC research activities; convening on a regular basis and working successfully with a diverse coalition of partners and stakeholders; working with university students and interns on project efforts, including oversight of projects with internship participation; monitoring budget expenses and draft monthly, quarterly, midyear, and annual reports; other duties as assigned.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Psychology, Public Health or related field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in research methodologies, writing reports, supervision, software, data interpretation, and managing community engaged programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through completion of one or two years of post-bachelor degree work, such as a Master's in Psychology, Public Health or related field; displayed knowledge of dissemination and implementation constructs or services research; strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills, with attention to detail; excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office); demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse partners and community; ability to work independently, to take initiative in projects, and maintain flexibility while managing multiple projects.
