BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Collect, review and enter patient data for the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program (BMT) of the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (HCCC) into an electronic database; and to submit data to the Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR).
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assures compliance with data reporting and quality management standards as dictated by FACT and other external reporting agencies.
Abstracts and enters data into the BMT program database; reports to the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) all required data for BMT patients through the review of electronic medical records from information provided by clinical and program staff and from external sources within required timeframes.
Reviews CIBMTR requirements and provides recommendations on appropriate information to be tracked; educates staff and patient care personnel on NMDP/CIBMTR reporting process, regulations and documentation requirements.
Responds to requests for information, collecting and updating data for submission to program/agency databases, updating forms, and participating in educational offerings designed to assure compliance with program/agency policies, procedures and database standards.
Perform quality assessment of collected data; review for accuracy and completeness, follow up when indicated.
Participates in weekly BMT meetings; reviews documentation.
Assists BMT program in obtaining and tracking specific medical information as needed.
Reviews and updates data collection tools to assure compliance with changing medical standards and research needs through interaction with the BMT team.
Perform quality management audits and data analysis.

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience managing and entering complex clinical information with attention to detail.

1-3 years of administrative experience is required.
