The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Medicine - Office of Research and Graduate Studies (ORAGS) is currently recruiting for a Program Director (Non-Supervisory) position. Under limited supervision, the Program Director uses subject matter expertise to plan and coordinate the content and delivery of a program. The Program Director will manage a new program in Scientific Leadership, and will include oversight of the program itself, which will be an annual, 10-month program combining didactic information with interactive sessions. As part of the interactive component, participants will work together in teams, and the Program Director will be responsible for ensuring that participants meet their timeline of objectives; have access to necessary resources; as well as troubleshooting. The Program Director will be the point of contact for all issues pertaining to the Scientific Leadership Program.

Develops funding sources for the program, through grant seeking, major fundraising events and/or donations.
Works with senior management in developing program goals. Plans and manages data and communications strategy for program.
Develops and teaches monthly workshops on identifying research funding opportunities for faculty and postdocs.
Organizes and/or participates in various committees and teams to consult with program heads and administrative officials on policy and program needs as well as various administrative issues.
Develops, manages, and evaluates a scientific writing accountability program, which consists of 50+ faculty, in order to increase their scientific writing productivity
Represents the department through participation in campus meetings and special projects.
Maintains effective communication and partnerships throughout the campus by conferring with faculty and campus leaders on issues pertaining to program functions.
Monitors the budget, including approving finances, tracking expenditures, and preparing reports on current finances.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience: Six (6) years experience working in an appropriate field with at least 2 years experience of overall responsibility for program direction, coordination and implementation.
