The Department of Horticulture invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term Faculty Research Assistant position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Department Head.
There are two aspects to this research position. This position will contribute to our understanding of the role of viruses in decreased persistence in grass seed production fields and to our understanding of fungal-insect interactions.

Requires Bachelor’s degree in discipline appropriate to the field in which research is being conducted.
BS in horticulture, genetics, plant pathology, entomology, or closely related field.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Technical experience using a microscope.
Experience with field plot management, greenhouse and laboratory work.
Ability to summarize and present research methods and results.
Excellent oral and written communications.
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per OSU Standard 576-056-0000 et seq.
This position is in a federal building and the incumbent must successfully obtain the appropriate security clearance within 90 days of the employment start date.
