Provides computer and networking support to Student Affairs (SA) personnel. Provides user training and installation of hardware and software. Diagnoses and resolves user problems. Provides guidance to users regarding computer hardware, software, databases, networks and laboratories. Performs other duties as assigned.
60% - Essential - NETWORK SUPPORT: Provides network support for SA personnel, departments, and computer laboratories, including systems design, installation of hardware and software, and problem diagnosis and resolution according to established priority guidelines.
20% - Essential - TECHNICAL TRAINING: Assists in the ongoing training of IT student workers regarding needed technical knowledge and implementation of technical skills. Provides assistance in training for departmental personnel in access of University and Internet IT resources. Other duties as assigned.
10% - Essential - HARDWARE & SOFTWARE MANAGEMENT: Provides guidance to SA personnel by evaluating hardware and software needs. Transfers information system requirements and plans to the lead technical consultant. Provides evidence of communication and finished products and reports.
10% - Essential - COMPLIANCE: Assists college's lead technical assistant in developing College standards and policies and procedures.
A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. A degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
