We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Data Manager.
In this role, you will

Communicate the importance of managing data as an asset and shape the direction of data policies and standards to ensure that solutions improve data management
Proactively challenge and positively influence business small medium enterprises and senior Stakeholders to ensure data solutions are sustainable and aligned with data strategy, data policies and standards
Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand
Develop and recommend changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practices based on subject matter expertise and understanding of HSBC and market best practice
Communicate and adhere to HSBC policy and procedures in order to ensure good operational, financial and project management, policy and procedural compliance and early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of a management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels
Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the application of Group data policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements
Banking experience with good knowledge of investment banking global markets and commercial banking
Solid years of experience in data management or governance role, with good awareness of industry data standards
Solid years of experience with market data providers, vendor data evaluation and usage with a focus on Data Standards
Good working knowledge of data matching tools and the utilization of standards as part of quality assurance
Experienced with data quality management, particularly around static customer data, product, finance and risk data
Experienced in leading large scale data remediation and integration in a Financial Services environment driven by the need to standardize data assets
Experienced in writing business documents, legal or compliance background preferred
Excellent business communication in written and verbal and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills and client oriented
Self-motivated, focused, detailed oriented and able to work efficiently to deadlines are essential
Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, but is also a good team player
Ability to work across geographically dispersed teams and off-shore resources in a matrix environment
High degree of personal integrity
