Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Completion Coach (CC) to assist in the delivery of comprehensive specialized services to enhance the retention and completion results of career/technical education students at CBC. This grant funded position will employ proactive interventions to specifically address retention of nontraditional students and identify any barriers that may be negatively influencing students' abilities to complete a workforce certificate or degree once enrolled. The CC will assist students with academic progress monitoring, general systems navigation, educational planning, and provide academic advising during peak registration periods to support retention, persistence, and completion. This position will be responsible for a comprehensive call-out program to assist students with college transition. The CC reports to the Associate Dean for Student Completion and Retention.

Collaborate with career/technical education staff and faculty, including the career/technical education outreach and retention specialist, to provide advising, coaching and support services to career and technical education students to help with onboarding processes, completion and retention;
Develop, manage and facilitate a career and technical student contact and call-out program to assist with college transition and to provide support throughout the quarter;
Implement an academic early warning intervention program and provide follow-up services for referred students to identify and apply retention and completion strategies;
Provide timely and accurate career and technical educational information to students about career/technical degrees, certificates, courses, college policies and procedures as well as campus resources;
Deliver developed workshops/presentations on topics to include study skills, college and career planning, financial aid processes, scholarship searches, test preparation and motivation assessments;
Assist with educational advising by developing information sessions and an advising program to provide resources and services to career and technical education students;
Assist students in developing effective problem-solving skills, self-advocacy approaches, decision making and personal responsibility;
Develop, monitor and facilitate a degree completion intervention process to alert career and technical students to the graduation process;
Develop and co-present information sessions on career/technical programs and services to students, college staff and the community with other faculty/staff; and
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Master's degree in Education, Student Services or related field from a regionally accredited college or university; and
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible work experience, preferably in an educational setting, providing direct support to students.
Five (5) years working in a career, vocational, or technical field or in support of students who work in vocational areas.
Columbia Basin College (CBC) serves the citizens of Benton and Franklin counties in Washington state with two-year associate degrees for transfer to a four-year university, and applied degrees for workforce employment.
