Come join a dedicated team of IT professionals in a dynamic higher education environment. Information Technology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse seeks applications for a Systems Analyst. This position serves as a technical subject matter expert for the system configuration and of the campus student information system, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, and related 3rd party Enterprise systems. This includes the configuration of system modules used on campus to conduct business, understanding 3rd party applications that are integrated with the system, and working knowledge of campus business processes facilitated by campus systems. The position is responsible for performing system configurations as needed to fulfill requests and provide data to campus from campus databases in the form of reports and queries.
In addition to operational responsibilities, this position works with campus stakeholders and ITS staff to cultivate functional requirements from requests. The position will initiate projects to create new functionality or modify existing functionality as necessary to meet campus needs. The position is also responsible for creating documentation of campus business processes and providing recommendations to make processes more efficient.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Enterprise Services in Information Technology Services (ITS).
This is a full-time, annual (12 month) position that includes a State of Wisconsin benefits package.
Bachelor’s Degree in a Technology related field from an Accredited 4 year College or University (or equivalent field related experience).
Experience with Microsoft Office products.
Experience writing SQL and querying databases.
Collaborative working style.
Ability to train and educate users on software, customizations, and upgrades.
Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to communicate technical issues to all levels (technical and non-technical) of the organization and serve as a liaison between the Financial Aid Office, Information Technology (IT), and third party vendors.
Excellent organization and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
Effective public speaking, presentation, and listening skills.
Ability to independently initiate work activity including coordinating other individual’s participation in the work.
Knowledge of student information systems and supporting software, especially in the areas of complex software integration.
Experience in designing and conducting technical training sessions.
In-depth knowledge of People Code and People Tools.
Possess technical experience and software proficiencies.
