Incumbent serves as Express Card Program Specialist within Disbursements & Travel ---a unit of Integrated Procure-to-Pay Solutions (IPPS) housed within Business and Financial Services (BFS). This position administers the day-to-day operation of UC San Diego's Procurement Card, the Express Card program and serves as the subject matter expert and final approver for all non-payroll related wire transfer payments.
Incumbent administers card management operations, performs essential audits and policy compliance reviews for the Express Card program, serving over 2700 cardholders and generates approximately $50 million in annual spend. Independently performs comprehensive professional duties ensuring compliance with UC and campus policy and procedures. Ensures conformity with procurement, disbursement, and accounting policies as well as with internal control standards and external banking protocols to minimize risk and maximize accountability and control. Secures and maintains confidentiality of personally identifiable information and assists Manager on special projects as necessary.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures.
Ability to analyze situations, resolve issues, interpret and communicate policies and procedures and to recommend solutions
Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.
Experience with Microsoft Office professional applications, Outlook, Word and Excel.
Access database, PowerPoint, Visio knowledge is helpful with the desire to seek training on additional software applications as needed.
Strong interpersonal, written communication, analytical and service orientation skills
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices
Four years of experience in a professional working environment with similar functions related to customer support, payment processing, accounting or banking services; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of BFS, UCSD, and UC organizational structure, including policies and procedures, and administrative offices.
